Mailchimp & Kit sync

Send new fans straight into the tool you already mail from, without exporting anything.

Pro and above

What it does#

With a connection set up, every new fan is added to your list in Mailchimp or Kit within seconds of signing up. No CSV, no import step, no forgetting to do it before a release.

Mailchimp and Kit (formerly ConvertKit) are supported today. Everyone else should use the CSV export, which works with any tool.

Connecting#

  1. 1 Get an API key from your email tool In Mailchimp it's under Account, Extras, API keys. In Kit it's in your account settings under Advanced.
  2. 2 Paste it into the email settings page Along with the audience or list you want fans added to.
  3. 3 Save New sign-ups start syncing immediately. Existing fans are not backfilled, so export those once by CSV and import them manually.

What gets sent#

The email address, and nothing else. We do not send analytics, geography or anything a fan did not knowingly hand over for this purpose.

Pre-save addresses stay put

Emails obtained through a Spotify pre-save are not synced out. They live on your audience page and export normally, but they are handled more conservatively because they came from a platform with rules about where its data can go.

If a sync fails#

Syncing never blocks a fan. If your email tool is down or the key is wrong, the fan still gets their confirmation and still lands on your audience page. Fix the connection and export the gap by CSV.

Unsubscribes#

Once fans are in your email tool, its unsubscribe handling applies, which is what you want legally. Someone who unsubscribes there stays on your LouderLink audience page as a historical record, so do not treat that list as your send list once you are syncing.
