Rewards & delivery
Host the file with us, hand over a code, or send fans to a link you already have.
Pro and above
Three ways to hand something over#
Pick whichever matches what you're actually giving away. You can change it later without breaking the link.
| Option | Use it for |
|---|---|
| A file, hosted by us | An MP3, a demo, artwork, a tab sheet, a stems pack. We store it and give the fan a download button. Nothing else needed. |
| A code or message | A discount code, a guest-list password, a thank-you note, instructions. |
| A link | Anything that already lives somewhere: Bandcamp, your store, a Drive folder, a private video. |
Hosting the file with us#
This exists because most artists have nowhere to put a file. You do not need a website, a Dropbox account or a store. Choose the file on the create screen and it goes up with the gate.
Accepted types are audio (MP3, WAV, M4A, FLAC), PDF, images and ZIP archives, up to 25 MB. Anything larger should use the link option instead: put it on a service built for big files and point the gate at it.
ℹ Why 25 MB
Codes and messages#
The message supports basic formatting, so a code can be bold and instructions can be a list. It appears on the unlock screen exactly as you wrote it. You can combine a message with a file, so the fan gets both the download and the explanation of what it is.
Linking somewhere else#
Paste any address beginning with https. The fan gets a button that opens it in a new tab. Worth remembering: a link reward is only as private as the link itself. If the destination is public, someone can share it around the gate.
Changing the reward later#
Open the gate and edit it. Replacing a file or a link takes effect immediately, including for fans who unlocked previously and come back. Removing a file leaves the message and link in place, so a gate never ends up with nothing to give.
